A small taxi driver after agreeing to be paid 30 dh to drive 2 English tourists from Jemaa Elfna to Bab doukkala for 30 dh– more than the usual fare, changed his mind and demanded 50 dh. The English couple were furious but handed him 100 dh and waited for the change.The driver pretended he ahd no change and wanted to keep the 100 dh. Finally they had to walk into ahotel get some change and pay the greedy driver.
My advice is every time you take ataxi, agree to a price before hand and remember or write down the number of the taxi. In case of trouble report the incident to the tourist police or the police at Bab Doukala station. If that it’s too much trouble, ahve your riad signal the problem. Threatening the driver with police sometimes works
Hope tourists don’t get put down by the drivers and start to speak up. When pressure mounts authorites usually react….
